Rosacea/Facial redness
Rosacea is a condition that occurs in men and women, and usually begins after the age of 30.
Rosacea is characterized by red bumps (papules), small white bumps (milia), and cysts. Frequently, dilated blood vessels (telangiectasias)
appear on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Rosacea is also often associated with redness, swelling, and flushing of the face.
If not treated, rosacea can progress to an advanced form with puffy cheeks and an enlarged nose called a rhinophyma.
Rosacea can also be associated with burning and grittiness of the eyes. This is a form of eye irritation called rosacea conjunctivitis.
If you have these symptoms you should see an ophthalmologist.
None of the above is intended as medical advice. If you have a medical concern, please consult your doctor.
